Let the beauty we love be what we do.
I love color. Color actually makes me happy. Bright color. Big color. Bold color.
Color exudes excitement for me. I love to create with it, wear it, and decorate with it. Greens, reds, blues, pinks, yellows, except for peaches and teals, I love them all. So here I sit on the threshold of writing my first post on a blog dedicated to the celebration of color. A year ago I didn't even know what a blog was but after seeing my daughter's - everythingyellow.typepad.com - I decided to give it a whirl. I'm really not sure how it will all come together. I'm hoping it will be a fun way to keep in touch with friends (since I'm too old for Face Book) and a kind of journal of life events and creative endeavors that I can reflect back on. So no boring beige for me, here's to me trying something new and being colorful.
It has been a very long, hard, and dreary winter in Iowa and I am dreaming of green spring grass, yellow daffodils and vivid hues and soft pastels hanging in my closet again. It feels, though, like spring may be rather slow to come this year so I try and satisfy my color cravings by getting together on Wednesdays for some paint and craft time with three fabulously creative friends. It's really fun to get together and talk and laugh it up and I love seeing what imaginative ideas and interesting techniques they come up with. They each inspire me in their own way.
These are two of the items that I did for the sale/show that the four of us put on last year. We are planning and getting ready for another one.
I also like to add color to my home with cheerful wall colors and with furniture that I have painted with my favorite colors, patterns and quotes.
