Pillow of the Week # 30 and a Bit of Humor

I like things that make me laugh and when a friend posted this video on facebook today I knew I had to share it.

For those of us over 40 who think Beyonce may have forgotten a whole category of women. :)

So true, "Can't hide it so you have to make peace with it"

I thought it would be fun to have a tie in between this video and my Pillow of the Week.

I googled pillows and wrinkles and you can image what I came up.

Then I tried pillows and menopause and something called a Chillow showed up.

Really? 

I guess there is a water pillow out there for night time hotflashes.

Who knew?

In the end I just went with something that I would actually put in my home.

This one made me smile.

   

Laugh everyday.

It keeps us young and hopefully that devil Alzheimer's at bay.

My choice for Pillow of the Week this week is this smart and crisp navy and yellow accent pillow from Room Service.

Pillow of the Week # 27 The New Traditional

This week's Pillow of the Week is a Crimson and Creme flair inspired by an antique Indian chintz.

Now I usually don't think CB2 when I am looking for something with a more traditional flair but that is where you will find this eastern influenced lumbar pillow.

I think it would look good mixed in with either modern or conventional surroundings.

Pillow of the Week # 23 ... and 24

I am so far behind on blogging.

I keep thinking things will slow down and I will get caught up.

It seems that nirvana is always one week away for me.

I am two weeks behind on my pillow posts so here is a two for one post.

Look at it this way,

I'm saving you a few precious seconds too. :)

I have been seeing owls all over blogland but this one caught my eye.

I don't have any little ones any more but if I did I might consider something like this to set in the rocker or stuffed chair.

This  next sweet thing showed up in my inbox last week and I saved it to my desktop until I could share it with you.

Is it just me, or do you start dreaming about fall this time of year? 

This pillow would be great all year long.

The linen is perfect for a summer look but I start thinking warm "nesty" thoughts when I start thinking about the cozy colors and feeling of autumn.

This would fit into my fall look too.

I saw this pillow earlier this week on Get It Girl Style. It was instant attraction for me and I knew I wanted to feature it on this week's pillow of the week. 

   

I love the contemporary twist on a traditional design element, the sense of whimsy and of course it didn't hurt that it was black and white.

Pillow of the Week # 18 Ring Bearer Pillow to Decorating Keepsake Plus Unbelievably Gorgeous Bridal Bouquet

I must be in a wedding mood.

We have a couple of weddings coming up and I just hosted a bridal shower last weekend.

In that spirit I thought I would look for ring bearer pillows that could be used later as my pillow of the week feature.

There is a lot of cheap polyester garbage out there.

Then I found this classic beauty.

 

There were just so many beautiful options.

If it is a color you can use later then this could be stunning.

 

The pillows at this site start at $45 dollars and go up ... quite a bit but they are truly gorgeous and would be such a nice touch on the bed or in a bedroom chair to remind you of that most special of days.

Then I just couldn't help but sharing this bridal bouquet. It absolutely took my breath away. Talk about unique and a keepsake. I'd never seen anything like it. Too bad it is sold out but do you know someone who could make something like this?

I loved it.

The over-the- top breathtakingly beautiful and pricey piece de resistance ...

 

 

It's worth zooming in on it to really see the detail.

It's got the bling and the style. So very Carrie. :)

Pillow of the Week #17 A Turquoise Temptation

 

Last week I promised  something other than the reds and greens that I am so drawn to. When I saw this turquoise temptation I knew this was love.

Doesn't it almost look like a flower?

It comes in a number of colors but I thought this was especially pretty.

Then again, I love it in yellow too.

Pillow of the Week # 16 Raspberry Poppy

Those of you that know me know that these are two of my favorite colors. Put them together in a pillow and it makes me giddy. 

I just noticed that it looks so pretty with my blog banner.

Yes, these are my the colors that would be worn down in my crayon box.

Things have been incredibly busy around here the last week and I almost forgot my pillow of the week post. Okay I did forget, but hey it's early Monday morning. Just go with me. I haven't even had my coffee yet.

This time I thought I'd switch it up a bit and think about pillows for the bedroom. These really aren't throw pillows but they are just to fun to ignore. Don't you just love how these pillow cases would bring a sense of humor into the room. Hmmmmm, which kid of mine would want these on their bed?

Pillow of the Week #13 Nursery Flair

While looking for different pillow resources this week I found this oh-so-sweet graphic designed pillow cover. I don't have a nursery at my house these days but if I did I could design the whole room around this earthy pink mix of vintage and modern. It measures ten inches square and sells for $35. A week or so ago I saw this image of Ideal Bookshelves on Design Sponge and I loved it.

Books can complete a room but sometimes we don't have the shelves or the space for them. So we get creative with canvases like these or a pillow like this.
