I had never heard of Sinamay until this week. All I knew was I bought some of this awesome fabric in Galena at a little store called At Home in Galena. When my mom and I discovered it we knew we had to have it. It was packaged in rolls of thirty feet for $12.00 but I have seen it on the internet for anywhere from 9 to 23 dollars for the same size roll. This fabric is fun and elegant at the same time. It can enhance a garland with an ethereal effect that adds volume, dimension and texture.
It is so easy to work with. It is about 20 inches wide and it can be twisted, wrapped, tucked and shaped.
It is also pretty all by itself or with a string of lights to pull a grouping ( think multiples) together.
I even used it to wrap the cylinders on my dining room table.
I didn't stop with the winter white. I also bought it in red.
It took the whole role to do two windows this size.
Oh if I only had more. What could I do with it?
1. wrap it into the tree
2. tie a big bow with it
3. wrap a package with it
4. make runners the length of the dining room table. I think two would be cool. It would look like stripes.
5. Drape it in front of a mirror
.... and that's just what jumps to mind without much thought. The options could be endless. I will probably take the red down and use it again for Valentines. Hmmmm, am I really going to decorate for Valentines? This is so easy to use that I just might.
