I'll always put in one controversial item,
it makes people talk. ~ Dorothy Draper
It used to be that for me the words wingback chair conjured up an image of a cozy
old-world reading chair on an oriental rug.
I was beginning to think that wing chairs were passe.
Then I saw a post that got me thinking.
Mary at The Decorative Paintbrush was writing about this chair
and how it inpired her latest creation.
MacKenzie Childs
It was such a fun and insightful post to read and it got me thinking about my passion
for the unexpected.
This chair is imagination totally unleashed.
Bananas.
Off the chains.
Love it or hate it, you will definitely remember it.
It is one of those things that "Make people talk".
MacKenzie Childs took a time worn element and gave it a new look and a new life.
Not only do I like to challenge myself to take a risk with my fashion choices,
but it is equally fun in to incorporate this "push the envelope" philosophy
in interior design.
It is taking the the tried and true and then changing it up,
reworking the lines.

It is like blue jeans and a white shirt = classic good looks.
Always in good taste
but add a slamming pair of heels
or a mad piece of jewelry
and you take your look to a whole new level.
It can be that way with our homes too.
Nobody would suggest you dial up the controversial with every decorating element in your house
but a touch of whimsey on the walls, in your accessory choices, or that
unexpected treatment on a traditionally gracious chair?
What does that say about you?
I think it shouts
I like to have fun!
Life shouldn't be so serious.
So...
take an chance and express yourself.
If your guests still don't get it then throw this toss pillow on the chair
to make it perfectly clear
:)
Ha ha.
Winning!
