Get excited! it's Sunday night and time for Motivated Monday.
Unfortunately, my Monday will start with a huge clean up project.
This past weekend we lost the big old oak tree that has shaded the patio and back side of this house for nearly one hundred years .
Somewhere under there is some patio furniture and a fire pit.
At least it didn't hit the main part of the house.
Actually, just the top broke off.
The trunk is still standing a good twenty or twenty five feet in the air.
This part was heavy enough.
I'd hate to think how much damage that trunk could do.
We were very lucky but still it is sad.
I will really miss this old tree.
It is kind of like having an old friend move away.
To make matters even more challenging ...
We are having a PATIO PARTY here in less than four weeks.
Yes, a PATIO PARTY.
The invites have been ordered and the caterer booked. Because we are not easily defeated and we are rather determined partiers the event is still on!
So my Motivated Monday to do list looks like this?
1. Oversee the tree removal which they tell me will take two days
2. Call the landscaper to work his magic to repair and replant.
3. Call the contractor to order and replace the railing.
4. Call the cement guy to widen the driveway to go where we couldn't go before.
See everything does have an upside.
5. Let the caterer know that the martini bar will probably not be where we had planned. ;-(
6. Order a fountain.
7. Hire an electrician to hook up electricity to the fountain
8. Move the Sparkle Wash and window cleaning crew back a week.
Whew, and that is just Monday.
:)
