Welcome to Motivated Monday
at BeColorful
Thank you to everyone that linked up to last week's
Motivated Monday.
There were some really impressive posts but it was a busy week for me and I didn't get back to comment on each one yet. There were a few, though, that I did want to draw your attention to just in case you missed them.
For starters I couldn't agree more with Cheri when she discussed the annoying and unnecessary need for Word Verification on our blogs. I am always so put off when I make the effort to leave a comment and then have to deal with the extra steps. More often than I would like to admit I think I have posted my comment and closed the window but just as the window is closing I see that second step flash by and I realize I was supposed to do the whole word verification thing. Rather than rewrite my comment I usually just move on to the next post. In three years I have never required word verification and I have only had two spams. Read her post to see if you require this extra step. You may not even realize that it is on your blog and is reducing your feedback.
On the creative side there were two projects that I can't wait to try.
I'm thinking Traveling Door ideas here.
The first was from
She made these with leaves from a house plant.
I'm amazed that people can think of this stuff.
Can't wait to try it.
Thanks Suzy.
Then there was this total lamp refurb by
The before and afters really tell the story.
How luxe is that shade?
It probably comes as no surprise that I am a sucker for painted furniture posts. I thought these two were especially noteworthy.
The first was this lively green number.
I loved the whole chairs and hutch coordinating idea from
Chrissie of Chrissie's Collections.
The inside of the hutch base matches the chairs! Inspired.
You really should go to her post to see her other images.
Then there is one of my favorite bloggers, Lucy, from Lucy Designs.
This time she is showing us her painted fabrics.
This girl just oozes creativity.
This was a navy cushion that she painted for a sofa.
Check it out.
Incredible.
It is just so very "Starry Night" don't you think?
Love it.
I am also a push over for what I call functional art -
taking something that you use in your home that is a tad homely, worn or tired looking and giving it a new lease on life.
That is exactly what happened to this little jewelry box or mini storage drawer set from Lattenene's Cup of Chat.
It hardly looks like the same piece. What an update.
Again, you need to check out the befores to really appreciate this.
And last but not least, I loved this amazing bedroom transformation that Ashley pulled together over at Domestic Imperfection.
Tres Chic!
I love the horizontal and vertical stripes and that taupe/gray and yellow color palate. Stunning.
I look forward to all the inspiration that comes this way on Mondays and
I can't wait to see what new fabulousness you have for me this week.
Thank you for linking up and joining the party.
Bring it on...
