This was our sun-room/family room last year.
I loved this room when I pulled it together back in 2004 and for a number of years after that but recently it began showing its age and seemed bit overdue for an update.
Well, that update in now underway. You may remember that in January I listed the furniture from our library on Craigslist and it sold quickly. What I didn't plan on was selling the furniture from this room too.
For the past two months this is the look we have been sporting.
Wow, leather, polka dots, and what you don't see is wicker.
Nasty.
We stole this leather chair from another room and recently pulled in a wicker chair from the breezeway so we would have something to sit on while watching TV. So now this room looks even worse than it does in this picture, if you can imagine that.
The old sofas were beginning to show sun fade but really this whole make over started with the television.
Actually, I can blame this whole thing on our son that is now going to school in Japan.
When I first pulled this room together we had, what I thought, was an adequately sized television that I had tastefully tucked away and out of sight for the most part behind the doors of an entertainment center.
Then James, whose TV was much bigger and apparently cooler than ours, decided to head overseas. The television, of course, stayed here and found its new home in our sun room.
This new televison wouldn't even begin to fit into my beloved entertainment center.
So I had to break up with my armoire and welcome this build-it-yourself TV cabinet replacement into my life.
For the next ten months I settled for this look. I knew it was temporary. It just took me awhile to convince the hubs of that fact.
The new chairs and sofas have been ordered and I can't wait for them to arrive but now I can be encouraged that at least this side of the room has taken a huge step forward.
I still need to style things up but I think this Pottery Barn Logan is a step in the right direction.
Stay tuned. The best is yet to come.
:D
