I recently finished a jewelry box for a client that wanted to give this piece as a gift. She told me her friend liked all things bling, animal print and designer. The rest she left to me. So I added the BeColorful nod to Louis Vuitton, leopards everywhere, and Coco Chanel.

Yes, we finally have cabinets and counter tops!
True, they haven't been trimmed out yet and we still don't have hardware or mirrors but the granite arrived and it is even prettier than I had hoped. I really like how it looks with the tile.
They also started installing the plumbing fixtures. I never thought I would care about a toilet but as toilets go, I think this one is rather handsome.
:D

Welcome to this week's Motivated Monday here at BeColorful.
With our remodeling project in high gear and real life priorities my blogging has taken a back seat and I will have to say it felt good to take a break. When it stops being fun is when I will move on but for now I still enjoy it and it has been fun for me to get your feedback as we move forward with our bedroom and bathroom projects.
This week I ordered the hardware for the master bath. I chose these pieces from Top Knobs because I felt they had enough detail to make them blend with the more traditional elements of our home but that their clean lines and simple design also gave them a bit of a contemporary edge.
The trim carpenter completed the crown moldings and began hanging the closet doors that will hopefully end up looking something like these.
He also began laying out the trim molding for the bedroom ceiling. This is one of those details that I wish I had been a bit clearer about in my own head and how I communicated it to our contractor. Instead we spoke in generalities with me saying I wanted a smaller molding on the ceiling that was about fifteen inches out from the wall and maybe we would add some angles on the corners.

but the molding they delivered doesn't have a curved element like this so in the interest of not delaying this project any further we will just have to do 45 degree angle cuts for interest on the corners. It is impossible to stay on top of everything and in the scheme of things this is a small hiccup.

We are making progress, albeit slow progress towards completing our master bedroom and bath remodel.
We have been torn up since the 17th of August. That makes this day eighty five. Not that I'm counting.
I do have to say, though, that I really like the tile we chose for the bathroom.
These are eighteen inch squares on the floor. This will be the vanity area of the bathroom.
In the water closet and shower area we also added tile to the walls.
They aren't quite done in here yet. Apparently we need to have the trim team come back to finish the trim work before the tile can be completed. The trim guys are waiting for the granite people to put down the thresholds in the door ways. The granite guys were waiting for the base cabinets to be set.... I could go on and on.

This is an earlier picture. The leaves have now changed colors and have started to fall from the trees but the window is still here. I knew they were waiting for it to get colder. LOL
The base cabinets did go in this week so they could create a template for the counter tops but now one will have to come back out so the radiator can be put back in place. One step forward and two steps back. Remodeling is such bliss. :D
The wood floors were also refinished this week but I haven't been able to get in there yet to take a photo. It will need to be covered up again tomorrow so the trim carpenters can come back in but hopefully I will be able to take a quick photo before that happens.
