It was a great night to stay in so that's just what I did. I curled up with a glass, okay two glasses, of wine, a couple salted caramels and my "cellie" - just in case I need to post those comments I couldn't keep to myself on Facebook.
Only ten minutes in and I realized I need to consider upgrading my cable package. I have never seen Olive KitteridgeThe Affair or The Normal Heart.
I look at watching a show like this as a short cut to learning what's out there that's good and what I can pass on. I also like that it doesn't matter if I am familiar with all the shows or actors, I can still appreciate what their wearing.
There seemed to be a lot of sequins and silver. This dress has received a lot of press but it wasn't one of my favorites.
Julianne Moore via Who What Wear
Jennifer Aniston also sported sequins albeit in black.

She is so cute but really? The dress, a St. Laurent, is a bit of a yawn and it looks old on her. I wish she would step out of her box and surprise us by taking a fashion risk.
There were a few "misses" on the red carpet last night.
Most of these women have bodies that I can only dream of attaining and I understand wanting to flaunt the results of all those hours in the gym and crazy diets. Sometimes though, too much skin is just too too much. It distracts from how gorgeous these women really are.
Kate Hudson Getty image
It fits her flawlessly but the cut outs bring the dress down from chic to cheap.
Then there is Jennifer Lopez who just gets more beautiful with every year but this dress? It looks like it hurts.
via Hollywood Gossip
Her body is amazing but the dress is just too much - the open plunging neckline, the slit, the reptilian looking fabric PLUS a cape? This look is just over the top. One element? Sure. All four? #desperate. She doesn't need to do this.
Rosamund Pike gave birth only a month ago and she looks fabulous but this dress is just wrong wrong wrong on so many levels.
It is so unflattering and it DOES NOT FIT!
This look screams where is my waist and either get me roll of tape or a lift.
I'm really not sure who could wear this. I call it
Vera Wang How Could You?
But Vera's slip is nothing compared to full on wipe out that is Chanel's butterfly dress worn by Kiera Knightly.
This dress is just ridiculously hideous. Yes HIDEOUS.
WTH?
There are no words.
Does her stylist hate her?

But enough with the misses, there were so many of these women that really hit the mark with their selections last night.
White was a popular choice and I loved this understated but out of the ordinary choice worn by Kristin Wig. An off the shoulder look with a drop waist, it's feminine and flattering and it drapes beautifully.
Getty image
Salma Hayek also bared her shoulders in yet another drop waist gown but this one with a full skirted silhouette. The fabric is spectacular and the belt is a brilliant edgy touch that keeps it from looking like a bridal gown.

Red on the red carpet? Yes, it works and it was a predominate color at the 2015 Golden Globes.
The color looks ravishing on Taylor Shilling. I'm used to seeing her in that orange jumpsuit all the time. It was so fun to see her like this.
via Who What Wear
Then there was this beaded, pleated red tulle beauty worn by Allison Williams.
Designed by Armani Prive this is a definite showstopper.
I could have done with a lighter touch on the make up but still,
Wow wow wow.

Then there is Heidi Klum's take on red.
This woman knows how to do it right.

The best bod-con look has to go to
Diane Kruger.
Just looking at her makes me want to go work out.
I was also intrigued and smitten with this midriff baring pantsuit in navy worn by Lorde.
It's probably more of a love or leave it kind of look but me? I love it.
There were so many gorgeous gowns but in the end the one that I will remember is this dark blue beauty worn by Julia Goldani Telles.
I didn't even know who she was until last night but I saw her walk up on stage to receive an award with the cast of The Affair and I let out a gasp of admiration for her dress. It was breathtaking - literally. She is only nineteen but she carried this off effortlessly.
I read that the dress is a Carmen Marc Valvo design. I love his cocktail dresses but this gown is epic.
The color, the fullness, the dramatically plunging neckline. This look is perfection and my favorite of the evening.
Get ready. The Academy Awards are scheduled for February 22, 2015 and only weeks away.
I read this article yesterday from Lucky Magazine. I don't remember subscribing to their magazine but I'm so glad I did because they are always sending the best fashion tips and tidbits.
True confession time. I have always had a secret love affair with high waisted jeans. I have an older pair that I have kept hidden under long tops.
I've been wearing the lower rise style for a long time now too but for years I've been praying that a high waisted option would become acceptable again. I'm not talking "Mom Jeans" here but after three babies and a 50 something body, I know what works best for me.
I like a low rise like these with a shirt tucked in and a belt and I like them better after I lost my extra weight but really, they aren't for every body. Yes, lower waist pants DO have their up sides. Let's face it - a low rise pant makes our bum look shorter and smaller to anyone walking behind us, but I've seen too many thongs and bulging muffins to think these hip hugging styles work for everyone.
On the other hand, a higher waisted jean
1. elongates the leg.
2. eliminates that whole muffin top issue.
3. is great for disguising a bit of a pooch.
Add a heel and you seriously look like you lost ten pounds.
That higher cut fabric holds things in instead of pushing them up over the top and that zipper in the front kind of sucks things in and can work like a pair of Spanx. :D
If you read the Lucky article you will see that they say the same thing. These higher waisted sisters CAN be much more flattering than you think.
It was a great little post and it had me curious so I started perusing the internet to see what was out there and these are a few of the finds that appealed to me.
I have to do a bit of financial recovering after my NYC shopping trip. You know, let my charge card cool down, but I'm thinking a pair of these are in my future. How about you? Are you all in?
Last year I went shopping in NYC with a friend. It was so much fun we are going back for more. We like to call it the NYC Reunion Tour.
:D
This is one of those things that I never seemed able to squeeze in when I was younger so I am making up for lost time now. Time with a bestie and shopping. Does it get any better? I am so looking forward to going but really, half the fun is getting ready for the trip.
I start planning what I will take about a week ahead of time. I pull things I am thinking about wearing and hang them at one end of the closet. A few days later I edit those down to a few favorites that will pack well, don't weigh down my suitcase, and will still look good even with a flat walking shoe because Lord knows when it comes to NYC and shopping we will be doing a LOT of walking.
After I have narrowed down my major pieces I add in the jewelry, shoes, and a handbag for each look. Hopefully there will be a lot of overlapping of accessories.
Today, I got on the computer and then looked up some of my options online and added them to my Polyvore account. It is like playing paper dolls without the mess. Too much fun and time I definitely did not have but I did it any way. I'm bad like that.
:D
The upside is that I can tell when something just isn't right. It needs a boost of color, or a longer or shorter top - that sort of thing. It's a bit like taking pictures of things in my home and when I see them on the computer I am able to see things through the camera's eye that weren't so obvious to me before.
Maybe it's just me and a bit old school but I like to step it up a bit when I am shopping in the city, especially when we are cruising around some of the nicer stores there. I leave my yoga pants and flip flops behind and opt for a bit more polish.
Along with comfortable shoes I like to wear things that are easy off and on in the fitting room and are cool enough for the July heat.
When I am packing I try and work things into my wardrobe more than once. I wear the same shoes with two different outfits or mix and match tops and skirts to create different looks. Not only does it make for less unpacking when I get home, but you never know, even though I "charge ship" almost everything I buy, I still want a bit of room in my suitcase for those "have to have them now" things I inevitably buy.
Going forward I will not think twice about ordering on- line from Tory Burch.
I usually only order online from stores that I can easily return an item to if it doesn't fit. I'd have to drive about three hours to make a return to Tory Burch but I had purchased a cardigan from one of their stores a while back so I had an idea of how her sizes were running.
When I saw this terrific military inspired Band Jacket it was love at first sight.
I knew it would be an amazing transition staple and at HALF OFF I couldn't resist. I actually bought it about a month ago but life has been crazy busy and I didn't have time to post about my latest infatuation.
It arrived beautifully boxed and I was thrilled with the quality of this piece. I would say it runs true to size but if you are in doubt I would suggest going with the smaller size. What I didn't realize was how much wear I would get from it. It has been a cold wet spring here in the midwest and when I figure cost per wearing this has been a real bargain. The best part is, that this classic look will be able to be a go-to piece again when I start transitioning back into my fall wardrobe.
Thanks for stopping by.
Tomorrow I hope to share some Traveling Door creations with you.
Have you been hearing the buzz or is this something totally new to you?
A few weeks ago I was checking out at Ulta and they handed me a sample of a BB Cream. It looked like four small samples of foundation. Not knowing what they had actually given me I just said thank you and headed out on my merry way.
Later that same day I noticed an ad for a BB Cream in a fashion magazine and finally I was shopping with a friend who pointed to a tube of Two Faced BB cream and told me that was her favorite BB cream.
Wha, What???
I had no clue as to what she was talking about.
Talk about feeling like you are the last one to the party. That was me.
What I have learned since then is that BB creams, also called beauty balms or blemish balms, are a one step wonder. They are similar to a tinted moisturizer but have the additional benefits of a sun screen, anti aging serum, brightening qualities and sheer coverage and color all rolled into one amazing product.
The first BB cream was created by dermatologists in Germany as a moisturizing cream with healing properties for patients who had undergone facial laser surgery.
These healing properties are designed to help
alleviate sun and acne spots
reduce the appearance of fine lines
work as anti- aging and acne treatments
even out skin tone
improve skin texture
provide SPF and environmental protection
And all in a one step tube! Baby I'm amazed!
Incredible as it seems, these creams can reduce the need for layering on all of those multiple products every morning. Still, not every BB cream is perfect for every skin type.
So, which cream is right for you?
Paler Skin Tones
According to The Daily Makeover, the best BB cream for paler skin is
Dr. Jart + Water Fuse Beauty Balm available at Sephora.com.
Medium and Darker Skin Tones
might want to look into
Maybelline's Dream Fresh 8 in 1 BB Cream
This one is available in several shades from light to dark. It is harder to find darker BB creams but this one from Maybelline is touted as one of the best for deeper skin tones.
While some creams are categorized by color, others are grouped by skin types.
Two great BB creams for oilier complexions would be
Estee Lauder's DayWear BB Cream
and
L'Oreal's Magic Skin Beautifier
One of the best BB creams for drier skin is from Garnier.
This cream contains both hyaluronic acid and glycerin which are apparently power house moisturizers. For around ten dollars this is an amazing product at a very affordable price point.
Over 40 skin would probably like this
Stila Stay All Day
This BB cream supposedly contains little micro beads that will reduce the appearance of wrinkle depth by eighty four percent.
Are you looking for better coverage?
BB creams are more than a tinted moisturizer but lighter than foundations and really don't provide quite as much coverage as a foundation but there are a few of these creams that come pretty close. So if this is a property you are looking for in a BB cream you might want to consider
Shu Uemura
This cream is really more of a mousse but it provides excellent coverage, SPF 30 protection and it is much better at covering blemishes than most of the other BB creams.
Dior's Hydra Life was also ranked well for coverage but the down side is it is only available in one shade.
A third option for better than average coverage would be
Clinique's
Age Defense BB Cream
This one also comes pretty close to a foundation and is chalk full of all kinds of things that are great for your skin but I have read that you might still need a concealer.
Best For Sun Protection
If a high SPF factor is what you are going for then you will want to try
Dior's Diorsnow
With a SPF rating of 50 it is unsurpassed in sun protection and is available in two shades.
As for me, I have only tried the Tarte BB cream that they had offered me and I have to say I really really liked it. It comes in four shades, offers subtle but decent coverage, a sunscreen, and an oil free moisturizer.
I usually don't wear foundation. I typically just use a firming serum and a mineral powder and I have always steered clear of moisturizers. I know, shame on me but a lot of them are too rich and tend to clog my pores or leave me feeling greasy and looking shiny within a couple of hours. I wondered if this BB cream would also be too heavy.
In fact, the sample of Tarte BB Cream that I received at Ulta sat in my drawer for almost a week before I tried it. Then last weekend we were heading out for the evening and I thought I would give it a whirl. I absolutely loved it. Maybe this is what my look has been missing.
My skin appeared more even, definitely smoother, and it just felt so good.
A little goes a long way. I would say a pea size amount would be enough to cover your whole face. The other big secret, I think, is how you apply your BB cream. I put a small dab in my hand and then use a Beauty Blender.
This little dream tool looks like a pink foam egg but it makes it so easy to apply foundations or creams. I have tried those triangle sponges and hated them. I ultimately ended up throwing them all away. This is so different. It is washable and reusable and it helps to create a flawless even coverage that I just can't get with just my fingers or a brush. The narrow end is great for getting in close to the nose and eye area. Love this thing. It will probably be one of my go to gifts for my friends this year.
:D
I still use my firming serum and and eye cream and some days I still require a bit of concealer but all in all this has made my morning routine so much easier.
So, BB cream. You make my skin look smoother, my pores smaller, my complexion more even and you are actually GOOD for my skin. How did I survive so long without you?
Rose gold, it is a blend of pinks and golds and the result is a warm, complexion flattering, subtly splashy hue.
It was making the scene about eighteen months ago but never seemed to really catch on in my corner of the world. I wondered if it was over before it even took off here.
I don't think so. Rose gold has been making a statement on the runways in the most recent fashion week.
Donna Karan
Dior
Burberry
A bit closer to home for most of us might be this head turning look of a rose gold jacket paired with your favorite jeans.
or perhaps a rose gold clutch to pop any classic look.
BCBG
Ted Baker
(this one found its way to my house"
:D
Rose gold is much more versatile than you would imagine. Think of it as a shiny neutral or nude. Maybe then you could justify this Versace version.
:0
A rose color watch has been on my radar for a couple of years now. It seems to be a better look against my way too white skin.
Mark Jacobs
I briefly considered rose gold when I updated my wedding ring.
So pretty but I went with a more traditional look and still like what I ended up with best.
Remember last week when I wrote about my love for metallic shoes? Well, I hadn't seen these yet. Metallic shoes in rose gold? I die.
:D
J. Crew
Pour La Victoire
If you are unsure about plunging it with this color then what could be easier that a dusting of rose gold polish?
or the gleam of rose gold colored costume jewelry?
Charm and Chain
Jules Smith
Perhaps the idea of girly glam meeting up with geek chic is more your style. Then you might want to consider this rose gold phone cover.
Marc Jacobs
Or, if you are totally obsessed with this shade and you have more money than God then you could add this London Lotus beauty to your cart.
At over $300,000 it's a definite show stopper and no that is not a typo.
I think I will have to pass on that but those J. Crew shoes may have my name written all over them.
“In my mind, being overdressed is not a bad thing at all. What’s the worst-case scenario? That you are the best-dressed person in the room? Who cares!”

Rachel Zoe
Metallic Shoes, they are huge for spring and I couldn't be happier.
I confess, I am a huge fan of all that sparkles and gleams.
Earlier this fall I went into Chicago with one of my besties. I like to think I am up to speed when it comes to fashion but then again I do live in the midwest.
I went into the stores armed with my phone and a Pinterest app that had a pin board documenting all the things I was hoping to find on my shopping venture.
Curiously, a motorcyle boot, or moto boot, was not one of the things I had pinned. Then I spied these lovelies via
Not at all like the sexy over-the-knee boots I had in mind but somehow they called to me. These babies were going to seriously blow my shopping budget. Then again, these are the kind of thing I would be able to wear almost every day. You see when you live in the tundra of what the rest of the world refers to as "a fly over state" you have to plan on being able to wear your fashion statements in the snow and ice. Saucy stilettos and peep toes are so tempting but just not realistic.
I was looking for basic casual boot. I was over my UGGS. I had a couple of the knit styles and the soles were so slick that I finally resigned myself to the fact that I don't bounce like I used to so I donated them.
:D
So yes, with some convincing from my friend, and the rationalization that I would put my credit card in the freezer for the next thirty days, I took the plunge and did the old "charge ship".
I, as usual when I spend too much money, had to second guess myself. Perhaps I was too old for this look, but after googling some images of others sporting a similar boot I fell in love with my purchase all over again and decided this was a look I could still carry off.
Bethenney Frankel
Cindy Crawford
Mary Louise Parker
I don't want to dress like a woman in her twenties but I also don't want to become dowdy, dull, and disinterested in style.
A woman of a certain age can carry off almost any of the fashion trends if they are done right.
So I had some fun last night on Polyvore creating a bit of a more polished look for someone whose kids are getting closer to 30 than she is.
:D
The first look is a bit more city. I added a skirt, dark tights and fur vest with an infusion of red for fun.
The second look is much more casual. Paired with my favorite Joe's Jeans, a sweater, and classic white shirt. This is an outfit that best describes my style.
Somewhere around age seven I fell out of love with bows. They were usually attached to a piece of elastic that went across the arch of my patent Sunday shoes. Those shoes were torture. Maybe I associated bows with pain.
Then, somewhere more recently I fell BACK in love with with the idea of bows.
I think it started with all the bow belts I saw featured in the Burberry Fall 2012 Collection.
Every outfit was "Bowed Out"
I was immediately smitten but this little lovely will set you back $450.00
Last week it was showcased in the window on Michigan Avenue in Chicago and I kept passing it every time we would enter or leave our hotel. It was like it was taunting me.
I die but I'm not that crazy.
Bow belts have suddenly become ubiquitous and I, for one, couldn't be happier.
Here are some other options if you find that you are coveting one for yourself.
Let me begin by saying I am not a runner. Read top heavy and weak knees but also the fact that I have forever been plagued with shin splints.
So why would a non-runner like me fork over $155 for a pair of running shoes?
Well, for starters, I saw them in the January issue of Departures Magazine and I was drawn in by the fun styling and popcicle colors. I know, shallow, right?
Then last month I was getting ready to head out to Las Vegas. If you have ever been there you know this is one place that no matter where you go you will be doing A LOT of walking. I thought these little lovelies would be a great thing to take along.
I wasn't familiar with the brand. I looked for them locally and while we were in Vegas but without any luck. I searched for them on-line when we got back and found them on the Newton site in a variety of styles and colors. I read a bit about the shoes and canvased numerous reviews and the more I read the more intrigued I was. Apparently unlike most running shoes on the market that encourage a heel strike gait, these shoes, with their lower heel and amply cushioned ball area are designed for a mid-foot strike.
I didn't realize that a heel strike was detrimental but apparently it is and it can lead to an increased incidence of shin splints. Hmmm. interesting.
This made sense to me and is probably one of the reasons I never liked Nike Shocks.
Like I said, I am not a runner but I do like to walk for exercise. The problem is every Spring when I resume my walking regime I have to start so slowly and gradually increase my distance and pace. It is frustrating because I just want to get up and move but If I kick it up too fast that nasty sharp pain that I am all too familiar with will reappear. The more I read about these shoes the more anxious I was to try them.
They arrived last week and I have to say I am crushing on them big time. They took a bit of getting used to. The extra cushioning on the ball of the foot felt somewhat strange but not in a bad way.
A trip to NYC is in my near future and I am thinking of ditching the Sex in the City fab shoes look for this turquoise, yellow, and orange sporty style. I could pair them with a short skirt from Lucy or Athleta and work the athletic vibe.
Is that too Midwest of me?
I'll look like a tourist won't I ?
C'est la vie. I am what I am.
I know how girly this all sounds and that all the real runners out there are rolling their eyes by this point but hey,I do intend to wear these shoes for some serious fitness walking. It's just that for some of us shopping is a true endurance sport too.
to select an item from their extensive Spring and Summer line to review here on BeColorful.
I've seen this type of thing on other blogs but it has never happened to me.
I had a dress from this company a couple of years ago and it was one of my absolute faves but after a couple of summers it had seen better days and I reluctantly bid it adieu.
So I was absolutely delighted when Fresh Produce let me select something for myself from their website to review. It didn't take long before I found this little lovely.
They call it the Sunshine Dress and it is offered in umpteen colors and prints.
Here it is featured in black.
I loved the black too but I opted for a warm brown color that they call Truffle.
I have convinced myself that browns make me appear a bit tanner than I really am.
:D
When it arrived it was everything I had hoped it would be. I would say it ran very true to size and the quality was first rate.
I would wear this wonderfully versatile and SIMPLE DRESSto go shopping, to a meeting with a client, or on a date night with the hubs.
It is a great look when worn as is with a pair of flip flops and a bevy of necklaces,
layered with a jacket or vest,
spiced up with a hat,
or paired with a legging.
This is that one BASIC DRESS that will take you anywhere.
The cap sleeve and softly shirred skirt are universally flattering,
and the ruffled hem adds a flirty and feminine edge.
It is the perfectly comfortable, supremely packable, wear it anywhere SPRING DRESS. Plus it sells for only $54.00
A couple of years ago my daughter introduced me to this stylish and well made active wear. I live in the stuff.
Love it.
Last week my mom and aunt and I went to Dallas.
The main purpose of our trip was to visit my uncle but girls will be girls and we were also able to squeeze in a bit of shopping. My cohorts had never been to a Lucy store and it was so fun watching them fall in love with it just like I have.
These stores aren't everywhere. In fact, there is only one in all of Dallas but the beauty of that is you don't see yourself coming and going. I usually shop the Lucy store in Chicago but I have been to the store in Vegas too and it doesn't matter where I am, the staff is always friendly and eager to help but never pushy.
If there isn't a store near you, don't sweat it, they have a terrific website too.
I had all of my stuff shipped home so I wouldn't have to pay sales tax.
Free shipping. Gotta love that.
So when my package arrived in the mail this week it was a Lucy love fest.
These were a couple of my faves that I spied while shopping.
These tunic length tops hide a world of sins.
:0
and these fun nordic vibed leggings just had to come home with me.
You can't see it very well in this website image but if you double click and enlarge it you will see more of the detailing.
Now I guess I will have to start back on my work out routine if I ever hope to look like that in them.
:0
Lucy.
Comfortable, on trend, and it all washes like a dream.
They offer leggings that can be cut to any desired length, jackets with built in lights, long and regular length yoga pants, the best athletic socks ever, and everything from bras to water bottles.
Usually when you come to Be Colorful you will read about home decor, painted furniture or remodeling an old home.
Occasionally I will write about shopping finds, music or organization ideas.
Like me, my blog has trouble staying focused on any single thing.
Today is no exception.
Among my many interests is a fascination with beautiful clothes.
LOVE them.
When I saw these I knew I had to share them.
I
Notice she is wearing gloves.
Swoon.
So I was intrigued when earlier this week one of my friends was gushing about and eager to show me the video of Oscar de La Renta's spring fashion show.
She was right, this collection is awe -inspiringly beautiful.
I was mesmerized by the totally feminine "Mad Men" feel to these clothes and
for a color evangelist like myself, the colorful fashions in this collection absolutely thrilled me.
For the fans of the black and white combo, and I am one of them, there is plenty of that look to love too.
Be still my clothes - whore heart.
This collection is just so PRETTY and feminine and not at all like the fad heavy, haughty and perhaps bordering on the absurd styles that you often see in these types of shows.
I was craxy for almost every single piece and also loved that the hemlines here are about a foot and a half below the hoo-ha.
Because, really, although everyone in Hollywood seems to be wearing it,
I just can't get on board with this look.
Eva, sweetie, that would make a gorgeous blouse but really? You look like you should be serving cocktails at the Wynn.
Then there is Whitney.
Ms. Port. Whatever are you wearing?
Your earrings are longer than your dress.
Honey, we've talked about this.
Not only is that hippie inspired rag tag fugly,
but really,
i's hard to take you seriously when you leave the house with your booty all hangin' out.
It makes me a bit nervous just looking at you.
How comfortable can this be?
I know.
I am such a midwesterner.
Right?
IBut hey, it's cold here.
Like Cake said, " I love a short skirt and a Lon n n n g g g jacket" as much as anybody but I guess I prefer something a bit less brow raising.
A timeless look with that edge of saucy glamour instead of skank.
I'd say this still easy- on- the -eyes debonair designer hit it on on levels this spring.
These looks are not about fads.
They are "major" but classic.
Now if they could only be a bit more affordable and look as good on someone like me as they do on those models.
Maybe I will just watch this video daily to keep me pointed towards and focused on a more ambitious weight loss goal. :)
It was a really different Christmas here this year.
Our first born is in Missouri with her hubby's family.
We will celebrate with them in a day or two.
Our middle had to be at the airport VERY early this morning to make a 6:00 AM flight to Japan.
Our baby was here but he left earlier tonight to go skiing in Breckenridge.
When did this happen?
My kids live better than I do!
If I was feeling a bit underwhelmed by the holiday,
my mom upped the party vibe and went all out.
You have to know my mom.
She is the priestess of sparkle.
She definitely didn't let me down today. :)
Yes, she's a damn tough act to follow.
I'm leaving for Vegas in the near future.
I may have to borrow steal that top. :)
If silver sequins weren't enough,
she topped her sizzling little look off with faux fur.
Really? It's like hanging with Ann Margaret or a blonde Elizabeth Taylor ( in her leaner years).
I had been pretty proud of myself for just running a brush through my hair and getting out of my P.J.'s .
I may not have even done that but you know, even as old as I am, I still worry about what Mom thinks so I felt the pressure to get dressed.
Then she arrived in all her glory.
She and my dad did this to us about fifteen years ago.
We were having them over to our house to celebrate my dad's birthday.
I think we were having hamburgers.
You can imagine my surprise when I opened the door to see them dressed in party clothes and a tuxedo!
When I saw what Mom was wearing this morning I gave about a two second thought to changing out of my leggings, fleece top and stocking feet when I noticed my hubby going to town in the kitchen decked out in his comfortably worn and broken in ski team tee shirt circa 2002.
I felt better still when Adam came blazing through the door in his proverbial hoodie and jeans.
The kid must have fifty of these zip up sweatshirts.
Anyway, I decided not to give it another thought.
Denim, diamonds, furs, Pj's or yoga wear,
when it comes to Christmas, it all works. :0
It's being with the people that make you happy that really counts.
Last month I did a post on Hunter Boots. I guess I had been living under a rock and really hadn't heard of these. Apparently everyone else had.
My son sent me a link to these -
Then a friend sent me this image -
Serious swoon here.
But what really made my week this week was to find these by my front door.
My sweet friend is getting ready for a garage sale and ran across these cuties. She knew I wanted a pair of wellies and knowing my penchant for black and white and polka dots no less, she left this fun surprise on my doorstep filled with spring daffodils. I love ya Sherri.
Welcome to our BeColorful Home. Ours is an older home, built in 1916 and it has been added on to several times. We have lived here for almost fifteen years now and the house has evolved from a traditional flavor to something a bit more eclectic.I have always loved big splashes of color but I'm finding that I am also drawn to more neutral shades as well. Welcome and enjoy looking around.
